Pre-employment assessment testing helps provide assurance that individuals hired to do the job are less likely to sustain injury after employment commences.  The assessment is designed to ensure that an employee's physical capacity meets the job demands.  It also screens for potential physical impairments which could affect an incumbent's ability to work safely.  The testing program has several components including:

• Completion of pre-testing health risk assessment (Par-Q) and informed consent
• Baseline physiological tests:  height, weight, blood pressure and resting heart rate
• Musculoskeletal screening tests for evidence of injury or disease in spine and joints of the body.
• Job related functional tests: lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, crawling, stamina.
• Vision test
• Hearing screening
• Pulmonary fucntion tests
• Cardiovascular endurance
